Troops out of Iraq in 2011

Its a done deal. the country's Council of Representatives had ratified a controversial security agreement that requires American troops to leave Iraq by the end of 2011. Shrugging off heated arguments about "national sovereignty," Iraq's lawmakers finally moved to redefine the country's relationship with the United States.
After months of negotiations and political theater, the two nations have an agreement that calls for U.S. troop withdrawal as well as establishes a framework for bilateral cooperation in the years ahead.

Obama 08

this year the people of the United States of america has made history. We needed a change and now we got it. Barack obama is now my president and yours. The key to obama and his sucessis that he has the same people that clinton had when he was in office. so good choices will be made.
obama will do a good job because he will focus on in house issues. Why focus so much on foreign countries when everything is not right in your own house. How can you help foreign people, when u got people in your country struggle just as well. that where we are falling apart. we pay millions to help other countries, when the people you share land with needs assistants as well. you got to worry about your house first. and that is where obama comes in, because he is more interested in us the US people the taxpayers of this country. Why give a man a fish when u teach a man how to fish.

Economy roundup

http://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/article/20081212/GPG03/812120698/1247
This is also connected to the auto industry bailout. They say that jobless benefit claims are up. The unemployement rate is rising and because of Ford and GM closing factories, its only getting worse.

Water discharge regulations at center of dispute

http://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/article/20081212/GPG03/812120691/1247
Because of this issue, shipping in the state of Wisconsin could stop.

'Truly new low': Illinois governor accused of trying to sell Obama's Senate seat

http://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/article/20081209/GPG0101/81209061/1207&located=RSS
I gotta tell you, im really not supprised by this one. We all know politicians are corrupt, this is just some more proof. Oh by the way, I was talking to my friend about this artical and she thought they were trying to sell his physical chair that he sat in. I got a kick out of that.

US general: Iran backs off worst bombs in Iraq

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081212/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/us_iraq_iran
This is always good news. The article stated that us forces were finding arond 80 of these bombs a month, now that number is down to around 12.

Predicting Which Stocks Are Going to Zero

http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/08_51/b4113072387855.htm?chan=rss_topStories_ssi_5
Some banking analysts have predicted that some companies stocks will go to zero. Companies like IndyMac Bank in California. The stock was recently 4 cents a share. Yikes

The U.S. Economy's Best Bet: The Intangible Sector

http://www.businessweek.com/bwdaily/dnflash/content/dec2008/db2008129_060427.htm
This artical talks about the fact that although the tangible market is in recession and has lost around 1.8 million jobs, the intangible market like education, has gained nearly 500,000 jobs.

Ahead of the Bell: Steel stocks fall

http://investing.businessweek.com/research/stocks/news/article.asp?docKey=600-200812120921APDIGITLFINANCE__Steel_Ahead_of_the_Be-0JG7VL6O66LJEP16K9KNUMGS7H&params=timestamp12/12/2008%209:21%20AM%20ETheadlineAhead%20of%20the%20Bell%3A%20Steel%20stocks%20falldocSourceAP%20DigitalproviderACQUIREMEDIAbridgesymbolUS;AKS&symbol=AKS
Well, since the senate didnt not pass the bailout plan for the motor companies, now the steel industry is hurting because they sold alot of their steel to Ford and GM.

Credit Crunch Unmasks Madoff

http://www.businessweek.com/investing/insights/blog/archives/2008/12/credit_crunch_u.html?chan=top+news_top+news+index+-+temp_news+%2B+analysis
This is a neat one. This Madoff guy is 70 years old and apparently an expert trader on wall street but he just got busted for billions of dollars because he was taking the money new investores gave him and using it to pay off old investers. He never really had a profit.

GM to cut 250,000 vehicles from 1Q production

http://www.newsweek.com/id/170090
So this one is a follow up of the previous bailout article. Since the bailout for GM and Ford didn't pass, GM has closed 21 of its factories and cut 250000 vehicles. My argument is that if forgin companies like honda and toyata can make cars better than American can and they can sell them for cheaper, then really its no big suprise to me that the American factories are shutting down. I heard on the radio the other day that like 96% of hondas are still on the road. That impressive. Every ford or cheavy my dad has ever owned has been a lemon.
http://www.newsweek.com/id/173999

I just thought this one was kind of cool. This article is about a scientist in Britian who found a 2000 yr old skull with the brain still in it. They are saying its a freak of preservation.
http://www.newsweek.com/id/173188

I guess things are pretty serious when the Attorney General is gunning for the governor to be removed from his office due to scandel.
http://www.newsweek.com/id/158975
I was thinking that since Christmas is comming up that maybe the economy would start to get a little bit better, atleast for a while, but this article says that as of november, the economy was still falling and we are getting deeper into the recession.
http://money.cnn.com/2008/12/12/news/companies/auto_future/index.htm?postversion=2008121209&iref=topnews
I understand they want to keep GM and Ford out of bankruptcy, but using the 14million set aside to bail out the banks, to bail out car companies instead just doenst seem right. I think there are more important issuses than Ford.
http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/12/12/caylee.anthony/index.html

I've been watching this case at night on nancy grace and the fact that they finally found the body is upsetting, i was hoping she was still alive.

ethics blogg

After responding to a blogg posted about Wal-Mart I recalled an article I read
recently regarding their involvement in Japan. They introduced the idea of the
store and promoted a peaceful, ethical company that believed in group
cohesiveness. Ironically, within weeks of aquiring rights of local "seiyu"
stores they fired 25% of the currently employed, consisting of over 1500
managers and associates. This has led to a decline in business because they
have pissed people off, for lack of a better word. Not only have they
misrepresented themselves when entering the market, they have also violated the
trust the former employees and consumers had placed in the company. Big business
has no loyalty to ethics apparently.
